Oswald vs Mickey 

yes i know mickey mouse was not disneys first character, oswald the lucky rabbit was his first character, but not under the walt disney studios copyright. oswald was copyrighted under universal studios and walt lost the rights to him. mickey mouse was oswalds replacement after walt lost those rights, and mickey mouse was copyrighted under the walt disney studios. it wasnt until 2006 did the walt disney company get the rights back for oswald. when people say it all started with a mouse it is because mickey was the first character he owned himself under the walt disney studios name. so technically walt disney studios did all start with a mouse. just wanted to clear that up.
